Viper 420

Brand spanking new I present to you Viper 420: Adventures of the Space Stoners. This little 4 pager is an introduction to the crew and a multicultural world 500 years in the future where humans rub shoulders with aliens.

This is one of those comics which I want to unfold into a bigger world. A highly ambitious monster that promises to eat up a lot of my time as I create a universe that dwarfs me, crushing me under the weight of the colossal task of realising this universe as a finished thing. And I want to realise it as an animation... I do make a lot of pointless work for myself.
If you're off to Thought Bubble on the 20th you should be able to pick up a paper copy there.

Fancy New Comic

This truly is a fancy comic which took me about 2 weeks to do the one page. It reminded me of the time I was doing The Sisterhood comic and I thought 'NEVER AGAIN!' My that took a long time, this one was fun though. Especially since you can not only read the comic but you can read into the artwork, I'm all arty like that you know.

Check it In a readable format here.
Speaking of doing comics and The Sisterhood in about 2 or 3 weeks I should have another comic for your eyes to feast on, set IN SPACE, where The Sisterhood should have been set all along. So keep your eyes peeled for that.

Thought Bubble

On the 20th of November I'll be at my Ragadabah table at the Thought Bubble convention in Leeds selling the rest of my old DOOM posters, pedal angel comics and trying to get rid of my box of fliers (when I ordered 5000 I didn't expect to be holding them 3 years later). Mainly I'll be trying to meet local artists who would be interested in illustrating comics. If you're planning on going drop me a line.

Thought Bubble

In the meantime I'm back on deviant art so look up mister-dan and you'll find me there. There's not much of my artwork up there yet but it's a nice way of connecting with other artists from all over.

Leeds DOOM at the Leeds Art Gallery Open Show

At the Leeds Art Gallery, between the 8th of August and the 19th of September you will have the chance to see my Leeds Pic O DOOM! in its full scale glory. Make a day of it, bring your family, especially the elderly and children - their shocking screams at apocalyptic carnage means they're having fun. While you're there why not big my artwork up in the Peoples Choice thingy for the Yorkshire Evening Post, preferably whilst commenting loudly about the lack of inspiration and imagination in all the other art works there.

At the beginning of November I published 100 copies of Pedal Angel, a 17 page photocopied comic about a bike race. I had set it as a bit of a challenge for myself, I hadn’t made much artwork since starting a new job in July and I had the Thought Bubble comic festival coming up where I had booked a table. I fancied making something that wasn’t violent or full of profanity, something that could be sold to kids. I’d started cycling virtually every day since starting work and it something I’m passionate about. I love existing in a world between cars and pedestrians, cutting between them through the streets, back roads and parks. I had about a month until the Thought Bubble convention and had already scrapped a few ideas that had grown into epic plans for massive stories that will span hundreds of comics, a route that a lot of my ideas take which would be nice if only I had the time or money. Nope, I had a month or so and a comic about a bike race seemed something I could keep small. I started planning it and halfway through the story I realised I had too many characters in the race. I took it down from 6 to 4 and started again. It took up most of my free time but I had finally finished writing, drawing and printing my first decent comic since my first year of uni. I sold a few copies at Thought Bubble and a few to my workmates but haven’t had many chances to push it elsewhere. After 3 months I’ve finally put it up on the internet, so here it is.

New Comic
